Amritsar is known for the Golden Temple and good food amongst others. When I visited in 2012 went to the well known Kedar Da Dhabha for lunch and Kanaiya ki Puri on Lawrence road for chole bathure / lassi for breakfast. Awesome.

Many friends ask for a list of good places to eat in Amritsar so decided to share a comprehensive note. A long time resident of Amritsar and dear friend shared the following details.

In Amritsar Dhabha Culture is very much famous.

For Breakfast special Puri Chhole Lassi at Kanhaiya, Munim, Sanjha Chulha and many more on Lawrence Road, Amritsar.

In the city try -

1. Bharawan Da Dhabha and Brothers Dhabha near Golden Temple.

2. Kesar Da Dhabha very old and famous in the interior city.

A new restaurant HAVELI recently opened at Jandiala ie10 km away from Amritsar entry gate. This is the branch of Main Haveli on Jalandhar Ludhiana Highway. It is also very good.

Next there are international food chains like Moti Mahal, Cafe Oz etc on B Block Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. KFC and Mcdonalds are there on Mall Road.

For Juttis and ladies suits Katra Jaimal Singh and Jutti Bazar near Golden Temple are the best. I bought Juttis or Mojris from Jannat 9815144765, 9781541616. Lasted me four years.

In case we have missed out a dhabha do write in with your experience. Shall add to the list.
