The border state of Arunachal Pradesh is in one corner of the country. It is now claimed by the Chinese as theirs. How do we make the people of this border state know that Indians care for them?
With this intent I decided to sponsor the education of a child at a school run by Vivekananda Kendra in Basar, District Siam. Her name is Gonam Basar, she is 7 years old. I hope to sponsor her education till the 10th standard.
Child details are: Gonam Basar, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Basar District, West Siang, Arunachal Pradesh. She stood first in story telling competition, reading and recitation. Her mother is a house wife and father is admitted to Vellore Hospital since last six months. She has two brothers who are studying too.
Vivekananda Kendra runs 32 schools in Arunachal Pradesh. Total number of students studying in the schools is 12,171 in academic session 2013-14. Among them 6,487 are boys and 5,684 (47%) are girls. Links tell you more about their activities.
