Life And Health

Quotes - Foreword
By Sanjeev Nayyar , March 1998 [ esamskriti@suryaconsulting.net]

Chapter :

Amidst our frenzied world, pressured by expectations, demands, ambitions and desires, Sanjeev’s introspections are as soothing as a silent night under a starry sky.

This compilation proves just how much learning and wisdom there is hidden in every experience that we encounter.  And yet, caught in our race against time, we do not allow ourselves the luxury to recognise the small lessons of life, even as they stare us in the face.

These thoughts belong to us all, because they touch our lives everyday, in many ways.

Reading through this collection, I have often found myself smiling as I discover some of my own experiences echoing through these pages.

This book is a must for everyone who is sentimental about life and who has at sometime or another, experienced the inevitable conflicts that life subjects us to, in the hope that someday we will acknowledge its lessons.

SUZY SINGH

                                                                    INTRODUCTION

The last 5 years have been the most eventful and exciting period of my life.  Change, risks, decisions, pain and happiness is a sequence that has been repeated so often that I have come to accept it as part of the package that life has to offer.  I have seen myself change, evolve and discover personality traits that were hitherto unknown to me.

I decided to pen down my first Fifty thoughts with no specific purpose. As time passed by, I discovered the joy of sharing through writing. It was then that I decided to walk down memory lane and recap life’s experiences.

The quotes have been divided into four parts. Life, Relationships, Family, And Work.

Besides my parents, two of my Senior colleagues, Dicky Saldanha and Mahesh Mani have made a lasting impression on me.  The quotes are a summary of observations; experiences of close friends and myself.  Books, too, have influenced the way I think.

I would like to thank Suzy Singh for coaxing me into this exercise.  I would also like to thank my secretary, Patricia Pereira, without whom this book would never have seen the light of  day.
