You see view of cloud formation during trek. To reach there fly into Gangtok, bus to Yuksum (app 4 hours, visit Rumtek Monastery there). From there you start the trek. Route is Prekchu bridge, Tsokha, Dzongri, Thangshing, Lamuney and Goecha-la (app 5003 metres). From Geocha-la you get a very good view of the world`s third highest peak Kanchenjunga 28,168 feet. Gangtok to Gangtok is a 13 day trek app cost in 2010 Rs 30,000/.

You see Kanchenjunga. If u are in Darjeeling drive for one hour to Tiger Point and see sunrise ie spectacular.

U see prayer flags with Mount Thanshing Khang.

You see dark pink wild flowers enroute. In season ie April get to see Rhododendron flowers in large numbers. They are red and pink in color, beautiful. The entire path has these flowers on either side.

You see a Sikkimese porter. The trek requires a minimum support staff team of ten, three in the kitchen and the rest for luggage.

The purpose of the Goecha-la trek is to get as close to the Kanchenjunga as a ordinary person can. You see the Kanchenjunga peak 28,168 feet. Photo taken from View Point. The base camp is still ahead.
