- Even when things are seemingly going well we are upset. Why do we get upset? How can we live in balance? Simply shared insights.
I often wonder...
Everything is set in this universe, yet why
are people upset? This question comes to my mind again and again during my
sadhana.
I look at Prakriti, at Mother Nature. I feel
she is giving us her best, every single day, without asking anything in
return.
Sun rises on time for everyone. Air is free
for the rich and poor. Water still tries to reach us. Earth still holds us,
even when we forget her. Space allows us to exist.
To me the Panchamahabhutas-Prithvi, Jal, Agni,
Vayu, Akasha, are in absolute balance. Nature is perfectly intelligent. Nothing
is lacking. Everything is set.
Then why are we, human beings, still
so upset?
Why is there so much anxiety, sleeplessness,
anger, loneliness when nature is giving its best? This question disturbed me
for a long time.
During meditation, I got an answer from within
so am sharing with you.
I feel, the imbalance is not outside but
within us. That is why we are upset.
Within us why did they lose their balance?
In my understanding, it is because of our
thought process. Because of our samkaras. Because of the deep impressions that
are stored in our subconscious mind - not just from this life but from so many
lives before.
I realized that we have forgotten our true nature. We have become so absorbed in the outside materialistic world and believe that more of everything will make us it happy – be it money, fame, house and followers of social media. So we are perpetually running to achieve this more.
In my own case, the more I run outside, the more I move away from my true nature making
me feel upset, anxious and empty.
I am a tree searching for water in the sky,
while water is in my own roots.
So what is our true nature? Our Rishis have
said it so beautifully - Sat-Chit-Ananda.*
When I contemplate on this, I feel this is my true being.
When I say *Sat*, mean ‘I am Truth. I am Existence. I am not this body that will age. I am eternal. When I forget this, I feel fear.
When I say *Chit*, mean I am Consciousness, not
my thoughts. I am the one who is aware of thoughts. When I forget this, I
become my thoughts and I suffer.
When I say *Ananda*, mean I am Bliss itself, not someone who needs to seek happiness. I am happiness itself. Like a small child who is happy without any reason because i.e. the child’s natural state.
So I tell myself - I am not seeking happiness.
I am happiness.
But what do I do?
Like everyone else, I sometimes search for
happiness outside - in people, in achievements, in shopping. I have learnt that
one cannot buy happiness. When bought such happiness is impermanent.
I can buy pleasure. But pleasure stays for 2
days, 2 months. Then it goes. Because pleasure depends on an object. Happiness depends on my own being.
So where does real happiness come from?
In my journey, have understood that real
happiness comes only when I work on the impressions of my subconscious mind.
Those vasanas, those samskaras that have been accumulated from so many lives.
Our subconscious mind is 95% of who we are.
Consciously I want to be happy, but subconsciously if I carry "I am not
enough", then how can I be happy? That is why I do daily sadhana. To clean
that storehouse.
This cleansing connects me the panchmahabhutas
within me.
When I carry too much fear inside, Prithvi
tatva becomes weak. I feel unstable, insecure.
When I suppress emotions, Jal tatva is
blocked. I feel dry.
When I carry anger and jealousy, Agni tatva
goes high - I get burnout, acidity.
When I overthink too much, Vayu tatva gets
disturbed - anxiety, restlessness.
When I feel purposeless and disconnected, Akasha
tatva is blocked-loneliness.
Thus, it is not the world but inner imbalance that
makes me upset.
That is why I believe, true healing is not
just taking medicine for headache. True healing is resuming and retaining
balance.
For me, healing has three layers which is why
I named it Trikaya:
*My Body:* Prithvi and Jal - I take care
through right food, breathing, yoga.
*My Mind:* Agni and Vayu - I take care through
meditation, pranayama, being aware of my thoughts.
*My Soul:* Akasha - I take care through sadhana/silence/cleaning
subconscious impressions.
When I clean my subconscious, my inner
panchmahabhutas come back into balance. When my inside is balanced, the outside
too looks balanced.
So I have learned:
I am not upset because world is wrong.
I am upset because I am far from Myself.
And my whole life journey is to come back to
myself. From outside to inside.
My true nature is Sat-Chit-Ananda. Your true
nature is also Sat-Chit-Ananda. We are all that.
We don't need to find happiness. We need to
remember we are happiness.
Come back to yourself. Come back to your body.
Come back to your breath. Come back to Sat-Chit-Anand. That is true healing.
That is what I want to share with you through Trikaya Cosmos.
