- Know key points made in Muslim and Sikh manifestos
which might force the Labour Party government to make some anti-India moves. It
is time perhaps, for Indians to give British protestors a reality check with
data.
Thanks to technology the Hindu Manifesto
UK 2024 entered my phone. It sets forth seven key assurances that the UK Hindus
sought from the future government namely ensure the protection, promotion and
progress of Hindu values and interests within the broader fabric of British
society. To read more
A friend who read the Hindu Manifesto
read the Sikh Manifesto too and was taken aback. Here are excerpts, “It is also ironic the Sikh Manifesto is being released when Sikhs across the globe are marking the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Sikh Genocide.” It was released
on June 7, 2024
The manifesto has ten sections. Key
sections are 7 that asks for a release of Sikh prisoners from Indian jails, 9 asks
for International Recognition of the 1984 Sikh genocide and a UN led inquiry,
10 is application of self-determination for Sikhs (presumably referring to
self-determination in Punjab, India). How Labour Party
might respond
Key points in manifesto are-release of
Sikh prisoners, reference to the 1984 attack on the Golden Temple and the
killing of Sikhs by the Congress party post killing of former Prime Minister
Mrs Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. These matters relate to the internal affairs
of India.
Actually, it is the Sikh community who
must apologise for the killings of Hindus in India in the 1980-1990s. Entry of Army
into Golden Temple and killing of Sikhs by the Congress both in 1984 are
unfortunate. More on this later.
Next read a tweet by senior
journalist Swapan Dasgupta who said, “What should concern India is the possibility that an assertive Muslim lobby will now seek to include Kashmir to its Gaza agenda. Khalistan will also try & muddy the waters further. If the Labour govt succumbs to these pressures, India-UK relations will take a nosedive.”
The manifesto, prepared by Muslim Council of Britain, has ten sections. Excerpts, “Point 2 - As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, the UK must uphold international law. This includes immediately recognising Palestine, ending the Israeli occupation, and ensuring we are not complicit in the ongoing case of genocide. Action requested. Immediately recognise the Palestinian state and end the Israeli occupation, including an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and the West Bank And Continue Britain’s role in advocating against human rights abuses globally,
including support for war-torn regions. Point 4 Provide student loans based on
ethical finance, such as Islamic finance, for those entering higher education.
Point 8 action requested, Promote fair and
responsible immigration policies to facilitate the resettlement of refugees
throughout the UK, including a fast-track
route for those with emergency refugee status, such as those displaced in Gaza.” Source mcb.org.uk or here
Key points in manifesto are-UK must recognise Palestine and not support Israel, provide student loans based on Islamic finance, facilitate immigration of refugee esp. from Gaza.” The last action request means more Muslims in the United Kingdom. I could not find any direct reference to Kashmir in manifesto.
Since 12 Sikhs, all from the Labour Party, 15 Pakistan
Origin MPs won too one can expect pressure being exerted
on the Labour Party on Khalistan, Kashmir, Gaza and Xinjiang. However, a review
of the MCB site shows
it is mostly Green Party candidates who pledged full support, do
not know how many of them won though.
What the Labour Party does is Britain’s problem. Indians can give British voters a reality check with data. Sharing facts and links –
1984 Genocide
1. Internal security expert Ajai Sahni wrote in The Tribune, “A total of 21,532 persons were killed between 1981 and 1995 in connection with Khalistani terror. About 65 per cent of all civilians killed by the Khalistanis were Sikhs, the community the terrorists claimed to be fighting for.” The balance 35% is app 7,500 Hindus killed! What wrong had the
Hindus done for them to be killed in such large numbers?

If the Labour Party analyses the above
data, it might not support the Sikh and Muslim manifestos. If it panders to
vote-bank politics!
U.S.A. supported the to evict the Soviets from Afghanistan, a by-product was September 11. It is for the Labour Party to decide their country’s future.
