- The BJP could not have lost the Ayodhya Lok Sabha seat because there is none. They lost Faizabad that constitutes 5 assembly constituencies of which Ayodhya is one. The Ram Mandir Movement is Sanatan (eternal) and symbolises Hindu fight to reclaim temples destroyed by invaders.
Ever since the Samajwadi Party won the Faizabad Lok Sabha 2024 polls, an impression was sought to be created that BJP lost Ayodhya.
A senior Congress leader went to Gujarat and said, “The Congress will defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next assembly elections in Gujarat the same way the INDIA bloc candidate did in Ayodhya in the Lok Sabha polls.” Hindustan
Times “"By defeating BJP in Ayodhya, I.N.D.I.A. bloc has defeated the Ram Mandir movement that was launched by the BJP veteran Lal Krishna Advani.” Deccan
Herald
So also a Trinamool leader
wrote in the Indian Express, “Awadhesh Prasad, SP, won Faizabad. So he actually defeated the BJP by 54,000 votes in Ayodhya. Here’s the man who won a significant victory in Ayodhya, which is a part of the Faizabad parliamentary constituency.”

5 Constituencies that constitute Faizabad.
A few observations in
brief:
1. Unlike the Trinamool leader, a reading of Congress leader’s statements might make the common man think that BJP lost the Ayodhya Lok Sabha. In reality, the BJP lost the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat which has five assembly constituencies namely Dariyabad, Rudauli, Milkipur (Scheduled Caste seat), Bikapur and Ayodhya. The constituency has a 22% Muslim population. Source
Whatever may be the issues in Ayodhya, one can win or lose that town's seat only during an Assembly election.
2. Neither the Congress nor the BJP can defeat the Ram Mandir Movement because it is Sanatan and spread across the world. The fight for building a temple at Ayodhya is about 500 years old and one election result might not change anything substantially. Challenges remain though!
Today, the Ram Mandir Movement
symbolises awakening of the Hindus, their demand for equal human rights in
India and reclamation of Hindu temples that were either destroyed or converted
by invaders.
3. Although many people thought that way, the 2024 Lok Sabha polls was not a referendum on the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. The election was
about two conflicting world views
Here are links of two not so known
examples of temples whose character was changed.

Sidhpur, Gujarat
2. Adhai-din-ka Jhonpra, Ajmer
