“Sri Ramakrishna compared our pos[1]sible understanding of the supreme god[1]head in terms of blind men groping different parts of an elephant and concluding that their limited perceptions of the parts were indeed the whole elephant. Theology, which is the study or knowledge of the godhead, is akin to Sri Ramakrishna’s portrayal of our efforts to think of God.”
