It consists of 7 caves of which one is the most seen. It is the one with Trimurthi. These caves go back from 6-8th century A.D.


This article briefly tells you about the caves. Elephanta is about a 1.5 hour boat drive from Mumbai. Keep a day to see. Lots of places to eat there.
