What is ISKCON?

ISKCON ("International Society for Krishna Consciousness"), is also known as the Hare Krishna movement. It's a Gaudiya Vaishnava Hindu religious organization founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The core belief centers on devotion to Lord Krishna.

 

ISKCON Navi Mumbai at Kharghar (officially known as the Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji Temple, is a prominent spiritual destination in Navi Mumbai). It is a must-visit for anyone seeking peace, spirituality, and a glimpse into Indian culture. Its serene ambience, beautiful architecture, and devoted community make it a truly memorable experience. Presently it is the secondly  largest ISKCON temple in Asia and was recently inaugurated by the Indian Prime Minister in mid January 2025.

Main Deities: Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, Sri Sri Vithal Rukminiji, and Sri Sri Sita Ram Laxman Hanumanji.

Nestled amidst the scenic and lush greenery of Sahyadri Hills and adjacent to the Kharghar Valley Golf Course and Central Park, the temple offers a serene environment for visitors seeking spiritual enrichment. Devotees can offer prayers to several deities, including Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji, Sri Sri Gaur Nitai, Sri Sri Vithal Rukminiji, and Sri Sri Sita Ram Laxman Hanumanji.

Its majestic architecture, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors, are a visual delight. The temple complex spans approximately 8 acres, with 2.5 acres dedicated to built-up areas and 5 acres to lush green spaces. The construction, which cost around ₹200 crores, showcases a harmonious blend of traditional design and modern amenities, making it one of the most impressive ISKCON temples in India. 

Facilities

The Bhaktivedanta Auditorium is suitable for international conferences and cultural events. The Bhaktivedanta Library offers a vast collection of spiritual literature. The Bhaktivedanta Guest House provides 87 rooms with both private and dormitory accommodations.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Kharghar Station on Mumbai's Harbour Line, approximately 3 kms from the temple. From the station, visitors can hire auto-rickshaws or taxis, with the journey taking about 10 minutes.

By Car: For those driving, the temple is near major transport facilities, making it convenient for visitors travelling from different parts of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

 

Visitors are welcome to participate in daily rituals, including Mangala Aarti in the early morning. The temple is open daily with the following schedule:

 

Morning Hours: 4:15 am-12:30 pm

Evening Hours: 4:15 pm – 8:30 pm
