- This piece in a simple way evaluates the Northeast packages
offered by Thrillophilia, MakeMyTrip and Veena World highlighting the pros and
cons of each.
Planning a Northeast trip is exciting until you start
comparing tours. One website shows a low starting price, another lists more
activities, and a third offers a structured group tour. At first glance, the
options may look similar, but it is not always clear what you would actually
pay for the same kind of holiday.
So, I started comparing the three well-known companies
for tours. The first was Thrillophilia as they offered customised tours, the
second was Make My trip as it offered flights, hotels, and holiday package
booking separately, and third was Veena World.
For this comparison, I focused on seven-day Assam and
Meghalaya itineraries that include places such as Guwahati, Shillong,
Cherrapunji and Kaziranga. This is a more useful starting point than comparing
a Sikkim holiday with a Meghalaya tour simply because both last a week. The
routes and tour formats still differ, so I have highlighted those differences
wherever they affect the comparison.
Comparing the same kind of week
A seven-day Assam and Meghalaya trip can bring together city sights, waterfalls, village visits and a wildlife experience without trying to cover the entire Northeast in one go. In the listings checked, Thrillophilia shows its Best of Meghalaya group tour at around ₹25,500 per adult for seven days and six nights. MakeMyTrip lists a seven-day Northeast circuit at around ₹35,000 per person. Veena World lists its seven-day Assam Meghalaya group tour from ₹85,000 per person.
These are advertised starting prices, not confirmed
quotes for identical departures. The itineraries are not exactly alike, and the
tour formats differ too. Veena World presents its Assam Meghalaya trip as an
all-inclusive group tour with scheduled departures, while the other listings
may offer different package formats and inclusion levels. The price gap may
reflect differences in hotels, activities, group-tour services and what is
included, rather than the destination alone.

What do you get for the price?
Thrillophilia’s seven-day Best of Meghalaya group tour is listed at around ₹25,500 per adult. Its itinerary includes Kaziranga, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki and Guwahati. The displayed gives time to waterfalls, village visits, and the main stops across Assam and Meghalaya. Thrillophilia also promotes assistance before and during trips, but the precise inclusions depend on the selected package. Before booking, I would confirm the hotel names, meals, transfers, entry fees, and whether
the Kaziranga safari is included in the quoted price. Album Kaziranga

Some listings advertise a separate package with a free
jeep safari, so it is worth checking the exact package name rather than
assuming every itinerary includes the same experience.
MakeMyTrip’s seven-day option also combines Assam and Meghalaya, with stops including Guwahati, Shillong, Cherrapunji and Kaziranga. The listing at around ₹35,000 per person specifies three-star hotels or cottages, airport pickup and drop, intercity car transfers, three activities and selected meals. That makes the inclusions easier to scan, although the final itinerary still matters. Check which activities are covered, how many nights are spent in each place, and whether the hotel category and meal plan match what you want. MakeMyTrip also lists other seven-day options with different hotel standards and activity counts, so do not assume that every package has the same price or inclusions.
Veena World’s seven-day Assam Meghalaya tour is presented as an all-inclusive group tour, with a tour manager and scheduled departures. The listed highlights include a jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park, sightseeing across Meghalaya, cultural experiences and stops in Guwahati. The India-facing Shillong listing shows a starting price of around ₹85,000 per person. Before comparing it directly with the other prices, check the selected departure date, the tour’s inclusions and the joining-and-leaving arrangements. Confirm whether flights to and from the starting city are included in the quote, along with safari costs, meals and any optional activities.
The routes are similar, but not identical
All three options bring Assam and Meghalaya into the
picture, but the order of stops and the time spent in each place can vary.
Thrillophilia’s listed route includes Kaziranga, Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki and Guwahati. MakeMyTrip’s seven-day listings also cover several of these destinations, but the night split and activity selection vary by package. Veena World’s tour follows its own scheduled group itinerary. These differences affect both the pace of the trip and the final cost.
Before
booking, look at the day-by-day plan rather than the list of places alone.
Check how many nights you spend in each town, whether
Dawki and Mawlynnong are both included, and whether the Kaziranga visit
includes a safari or only a visit to the area. A destination appearing in the
itinerary does not always mean that entry tickets or activities are included in
the price.
If waterfalls, caves and village visits are your
priority, make sure the itinerary leaves enough time around Cherrapunji and
Shillong. If wildlife is the main draw, check the safari timing, vehicle type
and park fees. A tour that includes the experiences you care about may offer
better value than a cheaper package that adds those costs later.
Waterfalls Meghalaya.
Hotels, meals and transfers can change the real cost
Hotel category is one of the first things I would
compare.
MakeMyTrip’s listing specifies three-star hotels or cottages, while other MakeMyTrip packages may offer different hotel categories. Thrillophilia’s accommodation depends on the selected itinerary, so check the hotel names and locations before treating its price as directly comparable. Veena World’s group-tour format includes a defined tour structure, but the final hotel details and room-sharing terms should still be checked against the departure you choose.
Meals are another key difference.
MakeMyTrip lists selected meals, so check the day-by-day meal plan rather than assuming every meal is covered. Thrillophilia’s inclusions can vary by itinerary. Veena World describes its tour as all-inclusive, but it is still sensible to confirm exactly which meals and other services are covered. The phrase “all inclusive” can mean different things across operators, so the detailed itinerary and inclusions list should have the final say.
Transfers matter too. Check whether the quote covers
airport pickup and drop, road transfers between every town and local
sightseeing. Confirm whether the vehicle is private to your booking or shared
with other travelers. These details can make a noticeable difference to
comfort, especially on long road journeys.
Group tour or more flexibility?
The way you like to travel may matter as much as the
price.
Thrillophilia lists different itineraries and trip styles, so ask whether the route, hotel or activities can be adjusted for your plans. MakeMyTrip’s package summary makes it easier to scan the duration, hotel category and main inclusions, but the package terms determine what can be changed after booking.
Veena World leans into a planned group-tour
experience, with scheduled departures and a tour manager. That can be useful if
you prefer having the main logistics handled and enjoy travelling with a group.
It may be less suited to someone who wants to change the daily plan or spend
extra time at a particular stop. Check the selected departure and
joining-and-leaving arrangements, as these can affect both the logistics and
the price you pay.
So, which travel company would I look at first?
If I were trying to keep the budget down, I would start with Thrillophilia’s seven-day option and check the full inclusions. Its displayed price is the lowest of the three in this snapshot, but I would confirm the hotel, safari, transfers and meals before calling it the best value.
MakeMyTrip would be my next comparison point if I wanted a clear summary of hotel category, transfers and activities. Its listed price is higher than Thrillophilia’s, and the summary gives a useful starting checklist. I would compare the final itinerary line by line to see whether the additional cost is justified by the hotels, activities and included services.
I would consider Veena World if I wanted a planned
group tour with a tour manager and a more structured travel experience. Its
displayed starting price is much higher, so I would ask for a detailed cost
breakdown and confirm what is included, especially flights, meals, safari fees
and other major expenses. I would also make sure I was comparing the same type
of fare and departure arrangement.
The main point is simple: compare
the same kind of seven-day route, not just the same number of days. Once
the hotels, transfers, meals and activities line up, you can judge whether the
price difference is worth paying. That is a much better way to choose a
Northeast tour than relying on the banner or the headline rate alone.
